Hoare

General Information

Description Lake Hoare is one of several perpetually ice-covered lakes in the Dry Valley of Antarctica. "Sculptures" of ice form on the lake in summer, when the outer ice ring melts, sand collects and conducts heat, and ice rises between the sandy areas.
