Portions of this website serve as an archive for LakeNet, a global network
of more than 2000 people and organizations in 100+ countries working for the conservation
and sustainable management of lakes. The network was most active from 1998-2008
when it was supported by the LakeNet Secretariat (formerly Monitor International),
a U.S.-based nonprofit organization. LakeNet is dedicated to bringing together people
and solutions to protect and restore the health of the world's lakes.
LakeNet lives on as an informal, global network of people concerned about lakes.
This website is now privately managed by the co-founders of LakeNet.
